Op Plenty Service

The Warwickshire Police have started running the Op Plenty service in our area. This service was already running in Nuneaton and Bedworth but has now launched in Atherstone and the surrounding villages.

Op Plenty involves the Safer Neighbourhood Team officers dropping by the homes of vulnerable people in our community for a cup of tea and a chat to check whether they are OK and if there’s any further support that can be provided. In relevant cases, they are hoping to connect and do joint visits with the Fire service for Home Safety Checks. Read about Home Safety Checks here.

Inspector Andi Gibbons of North Warwickshire Safer Neighbourhood Team said:

“We are in quite a rural part of the county, and we’re aware that this can sometimes make the loneliness of older people in particular who find travelling difficult more pronounced.”

“Op Plenty gives us a way of finding out where those who would appreciate us dropping by are, and a reason to check in.”

Inspector Ryan Walker of Nuneaton & Bedworth Safer Neighbourhood Team said

“We are pleased with how well Op Plenty ran last year, and our officers have made some lasting connections with people in the community who we might never have known were there.”

They are seeking to approach the most vulnerable/isolated/lonely patients within our community. If you would like a visit yourself from one of their officers for a cup of tea and a chat or know of any neighbours, friends, or relatives, who would appreciate a visit, please fill out a form (with the persons consent) and send it to sntreachout@warwickshire.police.uk.
