Carers & Care Support

Who is considered a carer?

A carer is a person, which can include both children and adults, who takes on the responsibility of looking after a family member, partner, or friend who requires assistance due to various challenges. These challenges might stem from a physical illness, age-related frailty, a disability, mental health issues, or struggles with addiction. Carers play a vital role in supporting their loved ones, helping them navigate daily tasks and ensuring their well-being. This important work is typically unpaid, and it requires not only practical support but also emotional resilience, as carers often provide companionship and encouragement to those they care for. Their efforts are fundamental to maintaining the quality of life for individuals who cannot cope without their assistance.
